Indeed, hijab as standing for the head veil in particular and referring to woman’s decency in general is something both required by religion and entailed by the common sense of humanity as a kind honored more than any beings else on earth.
Hijab both in its narrow sense as a head veil and in its broad sense as modesty was something quite innate, intuitive and axiomatic until very recently all over the world, including the West itself.
Either motivated by religion or common sense, women used to be decent and put on modest clothes from the time of Adam and Eve until the twentieth century, which marked the outset of the permissiveness, promiscuity and unrestrained liberation we witness nowadays.
Now, so many people, especially in the West, wonder why women should put on hijab or even be decent. In this post, it is we who wonder why she should not. Either according to religion or history and heritage, women must put on hijab and be decent.

In another post, we indicated that all Abrahamic religions, including Judaism, Christianity and Islam, make hijab incumbent on women. In this post, with historical evidence, we will show that women used to observe hijab (both as a head veil and decency) even in the West which is supposed to be the most permissive part of the world.
So, we argue that hijab as both a head veil and decency is the rule everywhere and every time either according to religion or nature and common sense. Nudity and immodesty are exceptions which take place sometime in history or somewhere in the world.
Therefore, it is the rule, rather than the exception, which should be followed. Hijab is the rule to be observed. Nudity and immodesty are the exception which must be given up.
