Christ’s Public Testimony on the Day of Judgement

By Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Al khalidi

The following Divine dialogue, on the Judgment Day, with Isa  (Jesus, the Christ, peace be upon him) son of Mariam (Mary) is going to demonstrate the trinity doctrine and to point out the Christ’s attitude toward it.

It will also shed light on Allah’s anger on those who took Jesus as son of Allah and worshipped him and his mother. The testimony by Christ will reproach the Jews who laid the bases of trinity doctrine, the preachers who called for the trinity and all those who believed in the trinity. Ultimately, monotheists shall be admitted into the Garden Allah willing; while the polytheists shall be thrown into Hellfire.

Christ will condemn the trinity doctrine and declare himself innocent of believing in it

Allah (Exalted be He) will inquire the Christ (peace be upon him) on the day of Judgment if he ordered people to take him and his mother Mariam ( daughter of Imran) as two gods with Allah. Allah (Exalted be He) knows everything, however, He will make The Christ (peace be upon him), as (Al-Qarni: 2007) says, express his negation to that. So, the Christ will exalt Allah from such falsehood and will whitewash himself from such accusation; as he does not  have the right to say such atrocious saying. And he will say that Allah knows that he (the Christ) has not said that and if he said it, Allah would know it:

“And behold! Allah will say: “O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah´?” He will say: “Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden”. (5:116)

The following verses show the atrocity of the false claim that Allah has begotten a son:

“They say: ‘(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son!’ (88) Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!(89) At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin,(90) That they should invoke a son for (Allah) Most Gracious. (91) For it is not consonant with the majesty of (Allah) Most Gracious that He should beget a son. (92) Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to (Allah) Most Gracious as a servant”.(19: 88-93)

Christ (peace be upon him) commands the Israelites to worship Allah alone

The Christ (peace be upon him) will say that he has not told Bani Israel (the Israelites) anything more or less except what Allah (Exalted be He) commanded him to convey; and he has not told them anything  out of himself. He really called them to worship Allah alone and to be enslaved to Him (Exalted be He); for He is alone the Creator, Sustainer and Regulator of affairs and the Christ (peace be upon him) is a creature like them, so he has no right to claim deity or to add lordship to himself. He (peace be upon him) was a witness to their deeds as long as he had been among them and when Allah raised him up into heaven he had no knowledge about them and Allah is the All-Knowing of their deeds, of their sayings and the Viewer of their conditions, and He (Exalted be He) is the Witness of every person, the Aware of every secret and the Observer of  every affair.

“Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, ´worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord´; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things”. (5:117)

Christ (peace be upon him) will say if Allah will punish those people, He is their  Lord and they are his slaves, and they deserve the torture; as they worshipped others rather than Allah (Exalted be He) and His torture is just and free of oppression and if He (Exalted be He) forgives them, He is the All-Mighty the All- wise. Al-Jazaa’iri (1997 Vol. ii:22) sees that ”If you punish them” means “if you burn who dies on shirk in your fire, you are capable of that”; and that  “if you forgive them ” if you let  who dies on Tawhid (monotheism) enter your Garden, he deserves that”  Al-Jazai’ri adds that as Allah is the most Wise who puts everything in its convenient place; so he who takes a partner with Allah will not enter the Garden, while the one who does not take with Allah a partner and obeys Him will not be tortured.

“If Thou dost punish them, they are Thy servant: If Thou dost forgive them, Thou art the Exalted in power, the Wise.” (5: 118)

Paradise will be the reward of  monotheists

The Lord (Exalted be He) will reply Christ (peace be upon him) “This is a day on which the truthful will profit from their truth” They were truthful in their belief in Him; so they worshipped Him alone without taking a partner with Him. This belief will benefit them and they will enter the Gardens “with rivers flowing beneath,- their eternal Home”; they will never leave them, and Allah (Exalted be He) will be pleased with them and they with Him; as He will endow them with an eternal blessing, that is salvation from fire and will admit them to Paradise.

“Allah will say: “This is a day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: theirs are gardens, with rivers flowing beneath,- their eternal Home: Allah well-pleased with them, and they with Allah: That is the great salvation, (the fulfillment of all desires)”. (5: 119)

The dialogue reveals that the Christ did not tell the Christians to take him and his mother as two gods; he will defend himself  on the Judgment Day and assure that he has told them to worship Allah alone. Allah (Exalted be He) shows His wrath as the Christ’s followers who are supposed to be monotheists have led astray and claimed that the Christ is a son of Allah.

Al-Baz (2007) points out that “Allah (Exalted be He) knows what the Christ had already said to his people; but it is the great  horrible enquiry on the great feared day which is not meant for The Christ himself as much as it is meant for others.” Al-Baz adds that the enquiry and its answer in such a way will increase the atrocity of the situation of  those who took such good righteous servant of Allah as god, and that is why the Christ (peace be upon him) will commence his answer to his Lord’s question with  glorifying Him (Exalted be He) and soon he will whitewash himself absolutely from such accusation, and he will witness Allah Himself (Exalted be He) on his innocence and sinlessness in modesty and humility declaring the inferiority of his nature as a slave and messenger compared to the absolute Might of the deity of Allah. Torturing the polytheists and blessing the monotheists are based on the principle of  Divine wisdom.

Thus, new Muslims can realize from this Divine dialogue how Jesus will whitewash himself in fear and surprise from what the Jews and Christians lied  on him in this World, how Allah will rebuke the Christians as polytheists on the plots of Judgment Day for taking the Christ and his mother as gods besides Allah, the immunity of the Christ (peace be upon him) from the Christians’ claim, highlighting the human nature of Prophet Isa and his mother, the irrationality of the trinity doctrine, fear of Allah’s reckoning on the Judgment Day, the virtue of the truth as it is beneficial both in this world and in the Hereafter, and that the Christ (peace be upon him) did not die; so he is still alive in heaven after his ascension and he will descend by the end of this World to kill the false Christ and to rule the world with the Holy Qu’ran.
